Overview

Women football in Uganda started back in the early 90s with girls and women playing the sport for fun. The National team played its first international match in Nairobi Kenya in 1994. Since then women football has developed in all regions of Uganda as a game changer in all aspects in the lives of women and girls and Kasese in Rwenzori region is still lagging behind.

Young girls are the most vulnerable to social problems caused by idleness and sport is a sure way to meaningfully engage and support women and girls in today’s rapidly changing world. Because of idleness, it has become an increasing concern that more of women and girls are being forced into life of crime. It is against this background that SHE KASESE Sports Club was founded in 2019 with a mission to promote and facilitate women’s access to leadership, professional integration, entrepreneurship, life skills, governance, access to healthcare etc. using sport as a fulcrum for the girls & women of Rwenzori and neighboring areas.
